One of my favorite activities is to host and entertain. A couple weeks ago we hosted an engagement party for our lovely friends. I got inspiration from different blogs online. Most of what you see in the pictures are handmade, and surprisingly not hard to make.
- Banner: I made the banner using scrapbook paper with vintage designs. I think this banner would look much better using fabric, but paper is much cheaper. The letters were made using a cutter machine.
- Couple silhouette: I drew the couple on black poster paper and then cut it with scissors.
- Pompoms: there are plenty of "how to make" pompoms on youtube, check it out if you like them. The pompoms are made from tissue paper.
- Cake topper: the nest ring is from Michael's store for .99 cents. The love birds are made from modeling clay.
I had so much fun planing this party that I wanted to post it here. I hope you find it helpful.

Im getting engaged in a few months..right now im searching the best themes for my momentous day...glad i found your blog...
This is outstanding! I never thought of having an engagement party. I can add this to my list. I am already very excited to know that all my relatives and friends are flying to come here for my wedding. I would love to have some pre-parties or get together parties before my wedding day. My fiancé has booked one of the wedding venues Los Angeles for a prewedding photoshoot as well.
