DIY wall jewelry holder

Here is another diy project. This wall jewelry holder is really easy and quick to make. You just need an old photo frame, push pins, craft wire, pliers and jewelry of course :-)

I already had this frame and was barely using it.
You can add color to your frame by using colored push pins, I used white because I thought it looked better.
and there it is, a nice convenient jewelry hanger. It doesn't take much space and makes it convenient to see your jewelry.

tie the craft wire to the push pins on both ends for hanging earrings.

Until next time :-)

Redesigning an old dresser

It's been long since my last update, but I am back and hopefully will have more posts to come from now on. I've been carrying a long list of projects for the past few years and I am ready to start.
We moved to a house and I was busy furnishing, decorating and stuff, but all of that is time consuming and not to mention pretty expensive $$
So, one of my goals is to get creative and and redesign old furniture if possible. Its fun, and cheap :-)

Any-who, I got this kid's dresser for free last week and put my creativity hat on.

-First I removed those big plastic knobs in it. Then I spray painted it. The painting process took only 30min or less 😄
-The paint dried even faster (15 min).
-Then I replaced the knobs with these cute ones from my fave store (Cost Plus World Market).

And voila.......

My new redesigned dressed :)
Total cost of these dresser: $30

DIY Engagement Party

One of my favorite activities is to host and entertain. A couple weeks ago we hosted an engagement party for our lovely friends. I got inspiration from different blogs online. Most of what you see in the pictures are handmade, and surprisingly not hard to make.

  • Banner: I made the banner using scrapbook paper with vintage designs. I think this banner would look much better using fabric, but paper is much cheaper. The letters were made using a cutter machine.
  • Couple silhouette: I drew the couple on black poster paper and then cut it with scissors.
  • Pompoms: there are plenty of "how to make" pompoms on youtube, check it out if you like them. The pompoms are made from tissue paper.
  • Cake topper: the nest ring is from Michael's store for .99 cents. The love birds are made from modeling clay.

I had so much fun planing this party that I wanted to post it here. I hope you find it helpful.
