Taking a break!

This week I started writing my dreaded Comprehensive Examination paper for graduation. I am in a Counseling Psychology program that is coming to an end this June. Every time I have something important to do I procrastinate!
My mind finds other better things to do like painting, drawing or even cleaning the house! This week I finished a painting for my living room and I love how it looks!

It is inspired from a bird I found online!

Now it is hanging on my wall!!

Ok, I should go back to my writing before I find other distractions!!!

Flowers!

Last Sunday, one of my friends from school brought me flowers from the farmer's market and they are so pretty and different that I couldn't resist taking some pics!....

I have never gone to a  farmer's market here in California and these flowers made me want to go and buy cute and different types of flowers.

I wish I knew the name of this one!

Looks like a wild rose!

Besides takings pictures of dogs I love taking flower portraits. My camera takes decent close up pictures, but I think a macro lens would be awesome! (but first I need to find a paid job, qua qua qua)

Apple Amigurumi!

This is not your regular apple!

Another toy I made this month is this delicious apple that would look adorable anywhere in your kitchen! It comes with a little gift inside:

Oh no, a tiny worm!

Don't worry this worm is harmless and wants to be your friend!

Yummy yummy!

(Esta es otra de mis creaciones hechas a crochet!)

Hearts for Haiti!

My practicum site (CHAC) is organizing a fund raising for Haiti and they came up with the  idea of making cards for Valentine's day and without thinking for a second I volunteered to create 10 cards!
The cards that will be sold for only $5 each and all proceeds will go to Haiti. The theme was hearts, so these are my creations and I might sell them online too!!

An owl was a must!

I spent the entire weekend making the cards, but no complains ....I would be doing this the rest of my life :)

Origami= Stress reduction

Today I started to get anxious about my future and I hate that!!!....Some people drink, smoke, exercise, eat and have many other ways to cope with stress.....My way of coping is by creating something........anything.
I was playing with paper and learned to make these cute bunnies and yes, they made me feel better, at least for now!

More scenes from Vail Colorado!

I was very impressed by the beauty of Vail, Colorado. The snow, the trees and the beautiful mountains were the perfect elements for a relaxing week. I couldn't take my new camera to the slopes until the last day, so most of the pictures except the last two, are taken with my iPhone.

Surprisingly  despite the cold, it was clear sunny!

The trees looked amazing and I felt I was in another world!

That's me trying to look like a pro...blah!

Some type of fruit from the trees!! they looked like cherries!
